Indianapolis, Indiana (100% online)
4-year, Regionally accredited
Regionally accredited, online only American College of Education awarded 1,541 master’s degrees in nine education disciplines for the 2015-2016 school year. According to their website this placed this institution at the number four spot nationally in awarding M.Ed degrees. With an annual cost in the $6K-$8K range, the American College of Education offers great value for those working, or expecting to work, in the education industry.
As an online-only institution, this college requires self-discipline and dedication. Not all prospective students – even master’s degree students – are cut out for this type of learning. But if you are serious, mature, and can take the time to learn online while studying offline, you should consider American College of Education.
We saw that some student comments complained about the requirements of online learning. Others misunderstood the accreditation (the college is regionally accredited). Our experience in higher education led us to disregard many of these negative comments as naive and immature; we suggest you do the same.
"American College of Education is a completely online school. It requires students to be self-disciplined and has high expectations. Online research skills are taught along with a strict adherence to APA citations and references. There is an emphasis on using technology to learn as well as using technology to teach."
