This 110-acre campus is located on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River in Hannibal, Missouri. Hannibal-LaGrange University is “unapologetically Christian” and is identified with as Southern Baptist. This university is home to over 1,100 students, almost all undergraduates, about 30% of whom attend part time, and a quarter of whom are 25 or older. All Hannibal-LaGrange’s graduate students take their classes online while about 30% of their undergrads are online, so methods of study are flexible. A full forty percent of these students are from out of state, indicating this university is attractive to students from many regions and backgrounds.
Popular academic programs include business, where one can earn a bachelor’s degree or a master’s in organizational leadership. Their offerings in the field of education include bachelor and master programs, and there are several health profession degree programs, including a popular RN associate’s degree. Bachelor programs in criminal justice and social work attract enrollees; biblical studies is also popular, especially their master’s degree in pastoral counseling. All together there are 34 majors available for those entering bachelor programs…lots to choose from.
We see that, although Hannibal-LaGrange’s sticker price is about $33,000 for first year fulltime students, their generous financial aid – over 90% of students receive financial aid – reduced the actual cost to a little over $18,000. In our opinion, this university deserves a close look, especially by those who will feel comfortable in a welcoming community situated in an attractive location.
