One of the larger institutions in our Best Value School class of 2017, the student body consists of just over 3,700 undergrads and about 2,000 graduate students. We are glad to see Ashland and its students embracing online delivery of courses; over half the grad students are online as are a quarter of the undergrads. The same ratios apply to percentage of part time students, indicating many of Ashland’s enrollees are working or raising a family, or both, in addition to attending college. This indicates, to us, that Ashland is serving its target market quite well. Good job, Ashland.
While Ashland University offers a wide choice of degree programs, the most popular are bachelor and master programs in education and business, and bachelor programs in health professions, particularly nursing.
Tuition and fees are reasonable, even without financial aid, and fully 90% of its students receive institutional grants and scholarships, reducing nest cost to attend to about $22,000 for fulltime “classroom” undergrad attendees. Average graduate tuition and fees for 2016-2017 are less than $6,000. Student comments we uncovered were greater than 75% positive, a good sign for potential enrollees. Whether you want traditional classroom or online studies, give Ashland a good look.
