Nominations are not automatic and cannot be bought. Institutions nominated for the Best Value School Award are held in high regard either by our Nominating Committee, by a third party nominator, by a student, or by a school staff or faculty member. Nominations require thought and effort, and while a nomination is only the first step in a lengthy process it conveys special recognition of an institution. All nominees are entered into a special database we maintain and are listed here on our website.
Those institutions selected as finalists by our Nominating Committee have, in our opinion, distinguished themselves based on our proprietary review process. As such, they are submitted to review by our Selection Committee. A finalist institution may not immediately be designated a Best Value School; the process is rigid and requires certain steps be completed, some of which may be delayed or a school may not promptly comply with the requirements. But once the process is completed to the satisfaction of our Selection Committee, a school is either designated a Best Value School or is eliminated for consideration for one year.
